RHINOS WITHOUT BORDERS is a project of hope in which two like-minded conservation and travel companies, andBeyond and Great Plains Conservation, have joined forces in the fight against poaching to translocate 100 rhino from South Africa to the safe haven of Botswana. The aim is to create a viable breeding population of rhino in Botswana, thus broadening the gene pool and increasing the habitat for rhino in Africa, in this way spreading the risk.

KOPELION strives to foster human-lion coexistence in Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Here intensifying human-wildlife conflicts has been tough on the lions. In the last decades, the lions have begun to disappear entirely from their former ranges, separating the famous Ngorongoro Crater lions from the Serengeti. The area’s mission for harmonious coexistence is collapsing, with both people and wildlife losing out. KopeLion was founded in 2011 with the aim to change this trend. By working directly with residents, KopeLion strives for sustainable human-lion coexistence in Ngorongoro for the benefit of both people and lions.

THE MARA-MERU CHEETAH PROJECT is to promote the conservation of cheetahs through scientific research, community involvement and education. In 2000, Elena was invited by the Kenya Wildlife Service to work as assistant Researcher at Maasai-Mara Cheetah Conservation Project. At that time, she started collecting photographic materials, and now the Project team is able to trace kinship between generations and to build Mara Cheetah Pedigree. This work has never been done before and the team is happy to share results with the Mara stakeholders. The ongoing research is a follow-up study, which will compare results with the previous one in terms of cheetah population status and effect of human activity on cheetah behavior

AFRICA FOUNDATION was created in 1992 when Conservation Corporation Africa was founded in South Africa. A central principle of the safari lodge business model was the belief that the involvement and economic development of the communities surrounding wildlife conservation areas were essential to the success of lodge operations.  Africa Foundation (United States) and Africa Foundation (United Kingdom) work with Africa Foundation (South Africa), safari lodge operators and adjacent communities to identify, fund and build projects.
